On-line Therapy

Intro to On-line therapy

What is on-line therapy?

Just like person to person traditional therapy, the goal of on-line therapy is to improve well-being. The only difference is that, rather than attending in-person sessions, clients and therapists communicate via live chat, and video calling e.g. via skype or zoom, allowing you to get help from wherever you are in the world.

We live in a global community and the internet makes it possible to access the help you need much more easily giving each of us the ability to reach people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to make it to an in-person office session.

My preference is always in-person therapy but sometimes that simply isn’t possible. If you are a couple living in a foreign country and want to communicate with a therapist in your own language or own culture then on-line therapy can bridge that gap. Doing couple therapy on-line is a truly convenient way to rebuild your relationship and rediscover the love without the need to travel to an office or hire a babysitter!

In order to make the best use of on-line services the procedure I follow is to:

  1. Email both partners a short questionnaire which they fill out, detailing your current and past mental health status, aspects of your life together and your reasons for seeking therapy online. I also want to know what you hope to achieve from the sessions. This helps to provide direction for the therapy.
  2. Once you have filled out the forms and emailed them back to me I will begin the process of arranging a time in which to have an on-line intake discussion and further outline issues regarding numbers of sessions, payment details etc.
